Northern District Plans Bold Corn Show Effort

The Northern Montana Corn Show aims for a record success with 25 000 cars expected this year and strong support from Blaine and other counties. Senator James Griffin spoke at the Sherman hotel praising past shows in Malta and Chinook and urging cooperation to match Chinook’s 1923 exhibit. The northern show committee voormally met to organize with Dan Noble as secretary of the 1924 show to be consulted. C L lists and others elected to lead.

Budd Brings East to West for Truth

President Ralph Budd of the Great Northern Railway plans a nine day fact finding tour for about twenty eastern newspaper men from Chicago to Seattle. The group will ride the newly built Oriental Limited and meet civic leaders in Minnesota North Dakota Montana Washington and Oregon to learn Northwestern conditions firsthand.

Jury Term of Court Set for June in Three Counties

Judge F. P. Leiper presided a one day term focusing on foreclosures. He announced district court jury terms in Dawson, McCone, and Richland in June with Dawson starting June 10, McCone June 16, and Richland the following week. The June jury list was drawn and will be published next week. The calendar is short but includes a few notable cases.

Wolf Point Nurse Dies at Glasgow

Marie Prellier an 18 year old Wolf Point hospital nurse died at Deaconess hospital Glasgow from a self inflicted pistol wound to the heart after a day of despondency. She had partial deafness and bouts of despondency linked to heart trouble and a troubled home life. She was from Great Falls and connected to the Wolf Point hospital through her aunt Mrs Costello.

Group Four Bankers Meet at Poplar for Successful Convention

The Group Four bankers from Roosevelt county convened at Poplar on Wednesday with near full attendance. A. W. Huxsel A. T. Listug I. L. Jensen G. H. Flint and S. T. Cogswell from Wolf Point and other rosters from Bainville Froid Mondak Culbertson and Opheim joined. The day featured welcomes from Geo. E. Erig on and talks by C. E. Hoppin state bank president and S. C. Fanborg secretary treasurer with county reports led by A. T. Listug. Evening banquet at Gateway hotel included remarks by H. O. Junod and insights on agriculture and hog marketing from Augustus Vaux and Murray Stebbins.

Commencement for Class of 1924 on Wednesday Night

Twenty four seniors will finish high school on May 28th in the largest class yet. A baccalaureate service is Sunday with a class program Monday. Addresses by Rev Johnson and Mayor Thompson. Five students finish the normal course. Big times last week at Volt and Vida.

Elsie Horn Marries Oregon Business Man Walter Center

A letter from Mrs L G Horn of North Bend Oregon reports the marriage of her daughter Elsie to Walter A Center of North Bend on May 10. The ceremony took place at Con quelle before Justice J J Stanley with Mrs Honn and C Price as witnesses. The groom runs the White Front Cafe in North Bend, where the bride once worked.

Wolf Point Senior Class Faces Trial Before Graduation

Just before press time information surfaced that Wolf Point High School seniors will be tried before graduation. The case, before Judge Pierre Taylor, is tied to alleged widespread studying during school hours with secret service agents rumored to be involved. The Senior Class Day program is set for Monday May 26 at 8 PM with the commencement case Wolf Point High School versus Senior Class.
