Fifth Annual Ft. Peck Farm and Livestock Meeting Inspires

The fifth annual Ft. Peck Farm and Livestock association meeting at the Indian school gymnasium in the Agency March 14 15 and 16 drew record attendance. Chancellor Brannon Lieutenant Governor McCormack and Murray Stebbins attended with out of town guests and the Women’s Auxiliary proved a standout success. The banquet featured Alvin Warrior as toastmaster and Rev. Walker delivered an inspirational address. Concluded with ceremonial tribelike adoptions of McCormack and Stebbins.

A T Listug Attends Farm Bureau Meeting

A T Listug vice president of First National Bank attended the annual Farm Bureau meeting merged with the Farm Economic conference at Culbertson on the 20th. Local economics becomes a county Farm Bureau department with county farm surveys to share real farm management experiences. Several sectional meetings will be held in the county during the year. City Candidate List Completed for April Election

City voters head to the polls Monday, April 2, to elect a mayor three aldermen and a police magistrate. Nominations closed on the 22nd with listings for Peoples and Republican tickets headed by Mayor W B DeWitt and Aldermen in the First Second and Third Wards. Los Angeles, March 21. A coroner's jury heard testimony from William Mulholland, veteran engineer, about warning signs 11 hours before the St Francis dam collapsed. The 185 foot wall leaked muddy water signaling “bad, very bad” conditions as the reservoir overflowed on the Santa Clara valley.

Amateurs Night At Liberty Theatre March 28

City Officials Propose Refunding Bonds For Savings

The Appelgren administration shows a "good and progressive" approach as 351,000 fif per cent bonds maturing in 20 years are refinanced to ten-year bonds at five and a quarter percent. Oldsmobile Radio Program to broadcast March 26

Oldsmobile will air its third radio program on Monday March 26 between 7 30 and 8 30 pm. The broadcast will run over 32 stations with two new additions KPRC Houston and WOAI San Antonio joining WGN Chicago WOC Davenport WHO Des Moines WDAF Kansas City and WCCO Minneapolis St Paul. The program will retain the familiar format and many same artists as prior broadcasts.

Finefish Death Ties Fort Peck Chief Redstone Line

Finefish a member of the Assiniboine and relative of Chief Redstone Finefish died March 19 at his son Frank Redstone’s home at 78. Funeral held March 20 at Wolf Point cemetery led by Elder H T Smith. He was son in law of Redstone, the last chief with tribal authority over Fort Peck. He helped name carry on the family name and leaves Fred and Frank as surviving sons.
