The Wolf Point city library received several new titles this week from donors Mrs Emma Johnson Mrs Luella Barry and J B Randall. Notable additions include The Border Legion Tarzan of the Apes The Crisis On the River s End and three volumes of official Union and Confederate Navy records among others.

Montana Grain Stocks Jump in March 1927

Grain reserves on Montana farms March 1 total 18,808,000 bushels, up 54.4 percent from a year ago, with wheat and barley markedly higher while oats and rye show mixed changes. Nationally, U S stocks are down about 17 percent from last year, yet Montana shows stronger farm reserves and favorable relative conditions amid steady prices.

Big Farm Meeting Anticipated at Bainville District Conference

A. W. Warden, Roosevelt county agent, visited Tuesday and Wednesday to meet farmers on county group committees for the district conference set for March 31 at Bainville. Poor weather kept attendance low, but Warden expects a large turnout and notes strong interest in the enterprise. The park committee plans to spend 150 dollars on trees and shrubs for city park planting.

In early spring a golf bug hits Leahey area with 25 to 30 top locals forming a club led by Ari Strom and G. W. McDougal. The Wolf Point crowd also turned out as the season opens amid muddy patches and drifting snow but golf is played in March despite conditions.

School Activity Schedule Shows Contests and Tours

Public schools list a busy April through May with training at Dry Fork, new Waska school openings, and multiple contests. Wolves Make Fine Showing At State Tournament

Wolf Point high school basketball and coach Ray Boe returned home from the state tournament in Bozeman with a strong showing. Despite injuries to Moore and condition issues for star players, the Wolves scored 61 points and held opponents to 66 in three games, earning praise from writers and consideration as among the best four of sixteen teams. Charlie Rothert received special mention as the team’s standout.
