Teenager in critical condition after self-inflicted gunshot wounds

Eben Monroe, 23, of a northern Poplar area home, was found after firing multiple shots to his head with a 22 caliber pistol. He underwent skull surgery after explosions and X rays, with doctors hopeful for recovery barring complications. Despondency from home troubles cited as cause. he is single and living with family.

Brooks Family Returns from Missouri to City

J W Brooks and family arrived from Independence Missouri to establish a home and business. He rented rooms vacated by GC C Can and plans to run a secondhand row and repair shop. Mrs Brooks will sell homemade garments. He previously lived near Vida on a farm and moved to Missouri three years ago.

Pettie Predicts Early Rains For 1922 And 1923

Professor G R Pettie of Plentywood lectured at Glacier hall on Astronomy Weather and Agriculture. A long study of meteorology and planetary influence on climate led him to forecast heavy rains last year and good rainfall for 1922 and 1923. He predicted rains would begin about mid May, about 21 days earlier than last year.

Burglars Touch Store Till for Small Sum

A break in at a McAllen store last Friday night shattered a side window and pried into the till. About $50 in cash and a grain check were taken, with no merchandise missing. The check has not yet cleared banks, and police have not captured any suspects.

New Manager Takes Charge at Wolf Point Machine Shop

Henry Erickson, a former employee and ex serviceman, has taken leadership of all work in the Wolf Point Machine Shop repair department. Rankin Eloquence Highlights Law Enforcement Rally

Labor League names city ticket for April elections

A large Labor League meeting at the Labor Temple elected officers for the year and named a full city ticket for the April 3 city election. Ralph Lemon became president, Clyde Potvin and G C Heller joined the executive board, John Gordon as secretary treasurer, with Bert J. Lynn mayoral candidate and W C Johnson, Clyde Potvin, and G C Heller as aldermen. A school board seat went to Frank Bliss, and Fred Herting was initially nominated for country member but disqualified for residency.

Delightful banquet follows the play The Elopement of Ellen

After the play last Tuesday the cast Miss McAleer and Miss Keckler and others who provided acts were hosted to a banquet in the school music room. Four Campfire girls Prudence Gils Elsie Dillard Amber Bickers and Alta Fanning led as hostesses. The menu featured fruit cocktail mashed potatoes peas roast pork bread and butter olives cakes tea cream coffee. Guests praised the hostesses and the event as one of the prettiest parties in town.

Missoula Team Wins State Hoop Title

Missoula high school captured the state basketball title at Bozeman last Saturday in a tight final against Sweet Grass County. The final score read 18 to 12 after a game that featured multiple ties. Glasgow, in its first game, fell to Great Falls 11 to 15, with Billings defeating Glasgow 31 to 12. Helena beat Poplar 19 to 9, and Havre finished seventh after beating Manhattan.

Camp Fire Party Hosts Celebrate Camp Fire Play

Last Tuesday night after the Camp Fire play the Super eight of the Campfire girls gathered at Norbys Sweet Shop for a spread. Mae Vorhees was voted a delightful hostess for her gratitude and cooperation in making the event a success. Guests included Isabel Young Dorothy Dillard Doris J Enid Everett Thelma Anderson Audrey Johnson and Monnie Zemo. Later the group was joined by male members and then departed.
