Initiative for irrigation effort in Wolf Point area
The Commercial Club of Wolf Point has urged federal action to start a gravity irrigation project along the Missouri bottoms from Frazer to Gilbertson. A preliminary government survey found the plan feasible, with water from the Missouri river sufficient for gravity distribution to lower benches. The directors will seek congressional support to introduce a bill, noting irrigation’s long term economic gains for alfalfa, sugar beets, and farming.
