Major Lohmiller Receives Welcome at Fort Peck Arrival

Major Lohmiller recently transferred from Tongue River to Fort Peck arrives at West Point by ferry landing with Indian delegation guiding him to a six o'clock supper at the Mission. He heads to Poplar to assume duties, bringing two truckloads of household goods. Reception was led by Mr and Mrs Arthur Pratt and other local delegates.

A L Caravan to Gather in Wolf Point Before Havre Meet

A. L. Caravan of Legionnaires from southeastern Montana will stop in Wolf Point Tuesday night en route to the state convention in Havre June 27 to 29. The Sidney drum corps will lead, with delegates from other posts joining along the Roosevelt highway. A Glendive or Circle route is not decided. Northeastern posts are urged to converge by 9 30 p m on June 26 for a 9 30 a m start. A Coliseum dance with Bob Kinsman and his band of Scobey is set for the 25th.

Nels Sorenson D Tschache and Mr. Miller representing Farmers elevator of Froid toured Wolf Point after a Havre convening of the Montana Grain Growers association. Sorenson reports a very good session and notes the 1920 convention site undecided, with hopes it return to the eastern end of the state. Charles Council Takes Sixty Day Leave For Long Vacation

Deputy sheriff Charles Council has secured a sixty day leave of absence and plans a long vacation trip with Mrs. Council and grandson Gene McCracken. They will drive to Minnesota Wisconsin and Iowa visiting friends and relatives at numerous places. In Beaudette Minnesota they will visit the Dr Drake family formerly of Monduk.

Great Falls hosts a Montana baby show tied to the Oriental exposition of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Charles Ston departed last Friday morning with a National Guard special to Camp Erickson near Helena and will remain until the 30th. Family trip maps out long motor tour

Railroad Meeting At Lustre Monday

Farmers in the north country will hold a meeting at the Lustre school house next Monday evening June 24 to discuss a railroad into their region. Representatives of the Soo line are expected to attend and a Mr Sprague will discuss the proposal. The Cottonwood farmers travel 30 to 35 miles to haul grain and seek a line through their territory. The meeting is set for 7:30 PM and all interested are urged to attend.

Joe Alvarez Sentenced for Disturbing the Peace

Joe Alvarez known in Oldtown and Poplar was arrested Saturday for disturbing the peace. He pleaded guilty and received sixty days in jail from Judge Gordon who ordered the deputy to provide steady employment for him.

Golf club accident injures sister of local golfer

A sister of Mrs Knut Yemley, staying with her sister south of Flaxville, broke her arm while practicing a golf swing in a field. Her foot slipped into a hole or object, causing a fall. She lives at Glendive and belongs to a golf club. she is visiting. College students return to Wolf Point after year’s work from University of Montana and elsewhere.

Combine and tractor field day at Medicine Lake draws crowd

Carl KR Moe reports that a June 12 demonstration at Medicine Lake drew a large crowd of farmers. Four tractor makes plowed six inches deep in 58 minutes using 1.4 gallons of kerosene per acre. Deere tractor won both time and fuel tests with 22.7 cents per acre fuel cost.

Shriners Pass Through Town on Way Home

Last Friday a strange siren drew crowds as a special train of Shriners from Zurch Temple Minneapolis passed through on their way home from the national convention in Los Angeles. Sixteen coaches led the parade with other cars from eastern cities also passing Wolf Point.
