Sherman T. Cogswell dies dean of Wolf Point pioneers
Sherman T. Cogswell, longtime Wolf Point resident and Indian trader, died at Deaconess hospital Great Falls at 2:00 a.m. after three weeks of care. Born January 24, 1865 in Adrian Michigan, he arrived in Montana in 1885 and shaped the town’s development as a trader postmaster and benefactor. He helped establish the Sherman hotel and the First State Bank, and remained a respected peacemaker among whites and Indians alike. The Masonic order to conduct services at the Presbyterian church.

Neighbor clubs golf scramble set for Sunday
Visiting players from thirteen clubs including Glasgow Poplar and Scobey will meet local golfers at the Wolf Point course.
