The class of 1929 at Wolf Point high school received diplomas during Monday evening exercises. Valerie Alrick gave the valedictory and Norman Nedrud delivered the salutatory. Prof. N C Abbott, billings normal school faculty member and former Havre superintendent, spoke on Whither Modern Youth asserting optimism for youth and the value of education. Abbott praised Montana citizens and Wolf Point’s schools. The program featured band numbers and glee club performances as diplomas were awarded.

D. L. Fugelsbo of the Southside reports magpies destroying nests of game and song birds near Wolf Point. He urges hunters to kill magpies or destroy nests and eyes to curb the pest. Montana-Dakota Co's Plant Burns in Williston Fire
A severe fire struck the Montana-Dakota power plant in Williston during a thunderstorm last Friday night. Lightning damaged the building and gutted the structure, destroying at least six transformers and heavily damaging the switchboard. Fire crews responded quickly, aided by two water streams, with manager Mr. Kleinsorge attributing the blaze to a lightning strike near the plant.

Forged $15 Check Yields Prison Term for Pueblo Man
Steve Gresh of Pueblo Colo received a one year sentence at Deer Lodge after forging a $15 check on May 30. Attorney E L Walton represented him. Gresh was arraigned before Judge Jordan on Sheriff Andersons complaint and held on $1500 bond, which he could not post. He will be taken to Deer Lodge Saturday by Undersheriff Charles Council. The check bore the name Ford Stelzer and was made out to Henry Stelzer.

Last Rites for Hank Cusker
Funeral services for Hank J. Cusker were held at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. B. A. Walker officiating. The church overflowed as friends from across Montana attended, honoring a man linked to the region since the 1880s. Burial followed at Greenwood cemetery, with pallbearers named from the community and local outfits. The obituary notes Cusker died around seven o'clock on June 4 after long illness.
