Fatal Accident Ends Donald McRae Farm Trip
Donald McRae a 41 year old Vida area resident died after a wagon upset on a farm team hitch near Vida. He was brought to Wolf Point and died in Jim Terry's Central rooming house after medical help arrived. Survived by his mother brother sister and father amid details of his Harrington Kansas birth and Vida neighborhood farming success. Funeral services were held at the farm home and Vida hall with large turnout.

Luther College Band Delights at Liberty Theatre
The Luther College concert band from Decorah Iowa performed Wednesday at the Liberty Theatre. The mostly classical program delighted the audience and showcased conductor Carlo A Sperati in the upper ranks of leading directors. The college maintains three bands and this season’s concert band has 51 members, refreshingly distinct from the previous ensemble two years ago which had 7 or 8 members.

Plane theft suspect held for U.S. court in Billings
A. Ja} Lacy, held in Richland county jail for five weeks, faced preliminary hearing before United States Commissioner Harry Clark. Bound over to U.S. court at Billings. possible transfer to Oklahoma for trial. Witnesses testified that the plane disappeared and later surfaced in Guymon, Oklahoma, with Lacy, who admitted the charges but said he acted under employer orders and did not know the ship was stolen. Lacy, a Marine deserter, claimed he joined to fly but could not, stating he simply walked out. The case marks one of the earliest aircraft theft prosecutions in the country and the first in the Northwest. Lacy was transported to Billings by Deputy U.S. Marshal Platt.

Charles Birger, the southern Illinois gangster, received the death penalty on murder charges in West City. Assailants Art Newman and Ray Hyland were sentenced to life terms by a cured wit court jury after a 22 and one half hour deliberation. Birger fainted when sentencing was announced and tried to speak to his sister as deputies restrained him. Mother appears at trial and reacts to Hyland’s fate.

Thursday Martin Spry shipped two cars of horses to Hinckley Minnesota and Wm Maxom sent one car to Winchester Indiana. McCone County Commissioners Tom Horsford Delbert Rhoads and Rufus Morris met in Wolf Point to decide the ferry right of way after high water shifted the landing. Harvest Starts As First Wheat Is Marketed
The big harvest is on in this corner of the state with rye and wild wheat cut south of Missouri. Next week plans to begin winter wheat harvest. The first new wheat was browset yesterday by Nis Refslund from the Southside. It was winter wheat, harvested and threshed with a combined harvester. A yield between 20 and 25 bushels was indicated.
