Consolidation of Wolf Point Newspapers Brings The Herald

The Wolf Point Herald will absorb the Wolf Point Promoter next week July 20 creating The Wolf Point Herald and Continuation of The Wolf Point Promoter. Ross E. Shavers named manager editor. L. Marshall retires. The Promoter will issue its final number this week.

Saturday Night with Theodore Roberts arrives at Liberty theatre

Theodore Roberts, veteran character actor, traveled across California to star in Cecil B. DeMille's Paramount picture Saturday Night. DeMille redirected him to a Sierra Nevada scene while Roberts hurried between stages to join the film, arriving at the Lasky studio just in time for filming. Leatrice Joy, Conrad Nagel, Edith Roberts and Jack Mower lead the cast.

Community Repairs Stampeed Grand Stand

A group of public spirited businessmen led by Ole Erickson A G Hauge Lovell Davey Lo My Clayton and Mothers fixed the Stam pede grounds grand stand. They replaced the roof and back wall making it safe and sheltering occupants and saving the Stam pede association significant expense. Paul Johnson and crew finished the new western stand.

Hoppers Under Control in Roogvelt County Says Officials

Officials report the grasshopper situation in Roogvelt County is not serious and is under control across most districts. Farmers can easily control hoppers with a few sacks of poison while they are young, with cost under ten cents per acre. Last year the county supplied ingredients free. this year farmers contributing part of the cost improves efficiency. Southside Farmer John Thomas Remley Dies at 64

John Thomas Remley died at his home on the Southside farm 18 miles south of Wolf Point at 9:00 a m after three years of failing health. Born June 11 1858 in Indiana he would have turned 64. He leaves no wife and several children including a son at the home place. Burial will be in Stalzig cemetery. More details were unavailable.

Man jailed for vagrancy with town leave condition

Fred Grezia was arrested by Officer Kearney and brought before Judge Grodon on vagrancy charges. Judge Gordon sentenced him to 60 days in jail and a $100 fine, suspended for 30 minutes on the condition he leave town. he complied. Reports say Grezia had a history of trouble and bootlegging suspicions.

Heffernan Case Dismissed In Gordon Court

County Attorney Catlin announced in town that Judge Gordon granted a motion to dismiss the grand larceny case against Michael Heffernan. The charge involved alleged cattle theft from the Security State Bank, previously linked to the so called Mike Murphy case. Attorney Hugh N. Marron represented Heffernan.
