Tough traffic mixup on Glasgow Highway
On a return trip from Glasgow, Louie Webinger and Mr. Neutgens faced a crowded steep hill when a Caterpillar tractor hauling three cars and wagons blocked the road. The Oregon sedan stayed nearby as the tractor load crossed the road. Louie swerved into the ditch to avoid a collision, toppling amid groceries but with no injuries and little damage.

Big Horse Swim Has Not Been Started
The planned crossing of several thousand horses over the Missouri at Oswego has not begun. Win Dawson says horses from the Young ranch and others will be moved for rail shipment between July 10 and August, but gathering is incomplete and he has not been seen in two weeks. Culver City Cal July 9 The single motored biplane Angeleno passed the prior 174hour 59second mark in an airborne endurance test. Pilots L W Mendell and R B Reinhart inched toward a new world record as they reached 180 hours in the air at 7 29 p m and shortly afterward refueled with a full 100 gallons for an allnight leg.

Bulgy, a giant roan and white steer from Fallon county Montana bred by Jack Guth, stands about 10 feet long and weighs 3600 pounds. Seen in Baker and Havre, his size sparks quotes of $11000 as a show investment, with plans to take Bulgy and his two brothers to Chicago’s World's Fair in 1988.

Fast Train Hits Horses Near Macon
The Empire Builder, Great Northern's fast eastbound train, struck a herd near Dulmey siding east of Macon on Sunday morning. Twenty horses were killed. the engine and cars stayed on track. A private grade crossing gate had been opened earlier, and ownership of the horses was not established. Railroadmen praised the train for staying on the rails despite the severe impact.

KGCX Station Nears Readiness for July 22 Launch
The 70 foot towers have been erected and the aerial suspended for broadcasting KGCX. Ed Krebsbach L T Rail and W Hamblin traveled to Regina to line back a generator. Remaining equipment has arrived or soon will, with operation expected by Monday July 22. The broadcasting room is built into the Westland Oil company service building and has been ready for some time.

Horseshoe Club Getting in Form for Stampede Play
Horseshoe teams are training daily for the Stampede with eight to ten squads lined up for the opening day. Additional entrants from out of town are expected as eliminations run in forenoon sessions and daily finals at 6 30 p m. Prizes rise with each team winning their first meet, increasing in the finals. Much interest is shown and many horse shoe sharks are anticipated.
Schilling Named Dairy Member of Farm Board
W F Schilling of Minnesota accepted a presidential appointment to the federal farm board as the dairy member, succeeding the offered post to W S Moserip who declined. Schilling, a Hutchinson native born November 11, 1872, has led the Twin City Milk Producers' association since 1917 and is a director of Land O Lakes and the National Holstein Friesian association.

Atlantic fliers forced down in Spain after transatlantic journey
Roger Q. Williams and Captain Lewis Yancey were forced to land near the northern Spanish coast after a 3400 mile flight from Old Orchard Maine in the Pathfinder. Head winds and fog exhausted 500 gallons of fuel. They planned to reach Rome tomorrow morning despite the setback. Hit And Run Driver Kills Plentywood Boy
A four year old lad, Saurky Arthur Mauritzen, died after being struck on the road in front of his home last evening. Witnesses said the vehicle bore a Montana license and carried four men. Police said they would search for the driver. He was the son of Mr and Mrs John Mauritzen.
