Mr and Mrs H H Fullerton are transferred to Culbertson for a promotion. They will move within a few days. The Culbertson Mountain States T and T Co station handles heavy toll traffic from multiple regions. Mr Fullerton will supervise Wolf Point Poplar Bainville Culbertson and Froid exchanges. Fred Leisuke moves from Froid to Wolf Point to oversee local work.

Mr and Mrs Richard Camrud and their children return to Wolf Point after about six months traveling through Buxton North Dakota Salem Oregon and Tacoma Washington They sold a Westside farm and a small fruit ranch and bought land and rented it for the season They found Montana best but plan to stay in town for the winter with the children resuming local school

Five Killed In Fierce Liquor War

Weekend drives by prohibition enforcement authorities resulted in the death of three rum smugglers at the hands of the coast guard and seizure of 5,000 cases of liquor. The wounding of officers occurred in Virginia Kansas and California. A federal jury in Coeur d Alene Idaho found 24 of 29 Mullen Idaho officials guilty of wholesale violations of the liquor law. Three smugglers died while attempting to run 600 cases of liquor into Newport aboard the speedboat Black Duck.

Another Home Burns Near the Steffenson Farm

The Bob Steffenson farm home south of the river burned between 11 and 12 last Friday night destroying nearly all contents. Steffenson checked the barn then saw flames around the chimney and the fire quickly enveloped the building. Robbery at River Flat Home Reported by Resident Moses Waoite

Moses Waoite of the river flat on the town’s southeast edge reports a New Year’s break in. A window was broken to gain entry and over ten dollars in cash was stolen along with belts and clothing. He says he is watching for suspicious crews.

Marriage Licenses Granted in Multiple Minnesota and Montana Cities

A set of marriage licenses issued includes Harry Duncan Crandall of Bainville and Claire Bertha Cerlowski of Sauk Rapids on the 27th, James Harris Davis of Poplar and Delma Rose David of St. Cloud on the 28th, Albert John Karge and Huldah Josephine Bach of Wolf Point on the 20th, and Leo Roy Martin of Frazer with Alberta Pipe on January 2. An accident report notes a mail sack thrown from train No. 2 was dragged under cars. contents were shredded to rags while the registered mail survived.

Slippery Highway Dangers Cause Two Ditch Sides

In Chelsea and near Wolf Point two Sunday and Monday incidents involved cars skidding on slick roads. Chas J Turner and D L Carpenter rolled into a ditch after dodging horses but escaped with no serious injuries. A P Crane family avoided injury when a rear collision near Wolf Point left their vehicle tilted on its side with two wheels in a ditch.

Watch Night Party at Presbyterian Church Draws Crowd

A goodly number attended the watch night party at the Presbyterian church on New Year's Eve. There was a sermon by Reverend Donehoo followed by music and games. The last half hour of the old year was devoted to consecration services.
