Assinniboines Move To Sue For Big Montana Land Claim

Isaac Blount of Wolf Point Henry Archdale and Growing Four Times of Oswego join Assinniboine members on Fort Belknap to pursue a 1851 treaty land claim spanning about 7.5 million acres in Montana and a similar area in North Dakota. They seek $18.75 million at $1.25 per acre, with attorney fees set at 10 percent. Proceedings target the government not possession. A Wash DC attorney will file in the court of claims.

Poplar High Wins One In Tough Wolf Point Bypass

Farmers urged to attend Roosevelt and McCone meeting

A Commercial Club committee invites farmers to the Farmers Institute at Wolf Point from March 3 to 5 in Glacier Hall. Fontaine Archambeau Ties The Knot In Wolf Point

On the 21st Peter Fontaine and Jeanette Archambeau were married by Judge Gordon. Mr Fontaine is a fireman on the Great Northern and they will make their home in Wolf Point. Farmers Short Courses Set Across County This Fall

Beginning next Monday in Bainville and Froid a series of farmers short courses will run through the county, continuing to Culbertson, Poplar and Wolf Point. The program emphasizes practical farming study over idealized notions of quick riches, with local speakers and a dress form show for women. Dan B. Noble, Co. Agr. Agent, notes the courses are free and aim to provide useful instruction and ideas for farmers.

During Douglas Fairbanks expedition to Arizona for The Mollycoddle filming he discovered Olakaka meaning Fast Feet. The fleetfooted messenger ran 100 miles to Holbrook carrying company messages and was brought to Hollywood. The Mollycoddle screens at the Liberty Theatre on March 3 and 4.

The Poplar team travels to Wolf Point next Wednesday for a heated battle royal after both squads have one win against the other. Two weeks later the Wolves embark on a long western road trip facing teams from Cutbank westward along the main line.

Pulmotor Delivered For City First Aid Use

The pulmotor ordered by the city council has arrived and will be kept at the fire station for community benefit. Fire Chief Smith notes it aids in drowning or suffocation cases and urges quick notification of fire department or police in emergencies. Dr Morrow will demo the device at 2 pm next Sunday at the fire station and provide usage instruction.
