Neighbor shoots neighbor and kills self in feud over debt
In Bloomfield area last Tuesday, John Lapp shot H G Brody known as Pat Brody over a $31.50 dispute tied to a wheat mortgage. After Brody foreclosed a mortgage and sold the grain, Lapp claimed an overcharge and fatally shot Brody before killing himself, leaving two widows and nine children.

Owl Cafe Gets New Quarters on Main

Noted Old Timer Jake Wirtz Dies at About 80
Word arrived that Jake Wirtz one of eastern Montana’s oldest timers, stationed at Ft Buford in the 60s, dropped dead at dawn today. He was about 80. Survived by three daughters and an adopted son and daughter.
