Refutes Story Of Escape Plot By Wolf Point Men

Charles Council and Henry Anderson returned from Deer Lodge clarifying a widely circulated tale that Norman Moody Albert Thomas and William Daniels planned to overpower the jailer with a revolver and escape. Undersheriff Council says the revolver discovery story is false and the youths behaved well en route. The account claimed by C H Brock was disproved by a search showing no weapon belonging to the Wolf Point men.

Christmas Concert Broadcast by KGCX

An enjoyable Christmas day program on KGCX featured Presbyterian choir songs Polish hymns and duets with Miss Winnifred Traill Mrs O C Johnson and Harold Shipman among the performers. The broadcast included Ave Maria Adeste Fideles Debutante Maid of the Mist and Open the Gates of the Temple with solo and ensemble numbers by Kaniewski Shipman and Traill. Miles Ranch Home Burned at Mills Farm in McCone County

Fire destroyed the large log house of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Mills during a strong west wind. Believed caused by a faulty chimney, the building and contents suffered heavy loss with no insurance. The Mills, elderly residents, escaped with only a few belongings, aided by a nephew and the Switzer family after Mrs. Mills braved deep snow to seek help. The couple now stays with the Switzers as the community pledges support.

A beautiful Arctic owl specimen, shot north of here by Ernest Sletvold, is displayed in the Huxsol drug store window. It was sent to taxidermist Frank Lemmer of Great Falls. The write-up notes the bird’s size and striking feather markings, mentions a prior Tribune story, and explains Arctic owls have migrated south in recent years due to scarce rabbits and difficult hunting conditions.

Harold Shipman Gains Honor As A Bandman

Harold Shipman, Wolf Point graduate and freshman chemical engineering student, is a member of the University of Minnesota band and competes for a 60 piece group to tour the South after winter quarter.
