Pierre South Dakota voters gave President Calvin Coolidge a clear majority over Senator Hiram Johnson 50 879 to 27 340 at the state convention and endorsed him unanimously later. Vice President candidate Arthur Capper was also endorsed. A McAdoo platform was adopted, pledging tax relief agricultural prosperity and world peace with strict enforcement of prohibition. A Thanksgiving dance for the local hospital raised a little over 75 dollars to be used for new beds.
