George Stambaugh a Great Northern brakeman was shot in Havre yards near the passenger station at 10 40 pm by railroad guard Harry Stiner. Witnesses Peter Martin and Louie Morris say the shooting followed a claimed attempt to rob. Stambaugh died. He had resided in Havre about five years, with a wife and a baby born six weeks earlier.
