Destructive hailstorms hit Mc Cone county and area farms
A severe hail storm last Friday night and Saturday damaged or destroyed crops on farms across Mc Cone county from north of Hamblin to near Circle. Crops on Nasby, Funk, Carr, Olson, McNett, Anderson, Artz, Martinson and others were harmed. Artz harvest was partly complete. Similar hail affected Hinsdale, Nashua area, Culbertson vicinity, and the Reservation northwest of Culbertson with widespread field losses.

Leonard Wood Dies in Boston
Major General Leonard Wood former governor general of the Philippines died at Peter Brent Brigham hospital in Boston at 1 20 am after an operation. A bulletin from Dr Alexander Lambert said the operation was for a recurrence of a skull bone tumor. Wood had been treated for a hernia in January and had come east for treatment. Burial will be at Arlington with full honors.

W J Hardie Mrs Hardie Iris and Evelyn returned last Friday evening from a motor tour to western Washington. They visited Herbert Hardie near Port Angeles and viewed the Pacific fleet. Herbert runs a poultry raising business with 1900 hens yielding 600 to 700 eggs daily at Port Angeles. Washington and Idaho highways impressed Mr Hardie, who noted better roads via Wallace Idaho and Missoula Montana route. Mrs Max Legge joined at Chinook and returned home.
