Federal men seize moonshine at Calder farm near Bainville
Federal prohibition agents led by Otto Waddell and W K Drake seized 1780 gallons of moonshine whiskey at the Ira Calder farm near the North Dakota Montana line, ignited by a gasoline lantern that set the building ablaze. Two men Calder and Edwin El Unger were arrested and later released on bond after a preliminary hearing at Bainville. Fred Myers of the Dry Fork community suffered a compound fracture of his right arm after his wagon hit a badger hole and threw him on Tuesday near town. Old Bad Check Gets Man Jail Sentence
R L Greenup from near Scobey gave Cy Johnson a five dollar bad check in September 1920. He was picked up July 22 and arraigned before Judge Gordon. He pleaded guilty and received ten days in jail. Police say Greenup passed other bad checks and was recognized at the Stampede, leading to his arrest.
