Helena July 29 Montana's State highway commission opened bids and awarded contracts on 73.6 miles of new highway construction and five bridge projects totaling 595,030.26 dollars. The lett ing includes 10 road jobs in Rosebud Powder River Pondera Roosevelt Sweet Grass Park Madison and Silver Bow counties worth 553,355.32 dollars and five bridge jobs in Rosebud Pondera Roosevelt Sweet Grass and Park counties totaling 41,674.94 dollars. Increasing Volume of New Wheat Marketed
The first load of new wheat marketed in Wolf Point arrived July 28, winter wheat harvested by Nis Refslund of the Southside. Elevators receive wheat daily, mostly winter variety. The first spring wheat load was hauled from Charlie Hall farm two miles west on August 4, bought by Frank Bannister. Hall wheat is durum, cut with a binder and threshed traditionally. Early indications suggest yields around 2 to 3 dust bushels per acre.

Auto Accident Involves Lustre Family Near Frazer
A 9 year old Peter Fast suffered a skull fracture and remained unconscious until Wolf Point hospital arrival after a collision Sunday morning between a Chevrolet truck driven by Ferdinand Funk of Larslan and a Dodge sedan driven by Henry G. Fast of Lustre. The three Fast children and the Funk family were treated for cuts and bruises. the four other occupants were cared for at the Thiessen home.
