Lindbergh Bill Lists at Banks
Article notes that Wolf Point banks received treasury lists of serial numbers on the $60,000 in ransom money paid to alleged Lindbergh baby kidnappers. Denominations were 5, 10, and 20, each bill with three letters and an eight digit serial. The numbers are not sequential, suggesting counterfeit or non-new currency. It advises how to handle suspicious bills and recounts Col. Lindbergh’s payment to alleged kidnappers, with ambiguity over a possible separate, unrelated job.
