Queen of Hearts shines in Wolf Point senior program

The senior class program on Wednesday featured a strong array of numbers, with the one act play The Queen of Hearts praised as the best yet staged in Wolf Point. Elsie Leoppky and Harold Thompson drew big laughs, and Miss Houston and Miss Keckler coached the student performances. The musical direction by Mr Staples added energy and Flora Walter’s encore thrilled the audience. A Gingham Club was organized with officers named, inspection days set, rules enforced, and top students listed across several grades and subjects.

A roster of names and scores across subjects includes Verdie Jensen 95 in Language and 90 in Music, Charles Alexander 7 in Hygiene and 7 in History, Phyllis Christianson 93 in Language and 94 in Reading, John DeLaHunt and Beatrice Shaver 96 in Geography, and Oscar Luck 92 in Arithmetic and 97 in History. Youths line up for Five Acre Corn Growing Contest

Wesley Barry and Katherine MacDonald in Stranger Than Fiction

Homesteaders Organize And Petition Congress

Homesteaders at Bainville on the Fort Peck Reservation organized for concerted action to petition Congress. Representatives from most townships and nearby commercial clubs discussed a twenty year low interest plan with government loans to meet Indian payments and grant patents to homesteaders. An association has raised 1200 dollars and will send secretary W A Ostrom to Washington as delegate.

Free Ford Day Planned in Wolf Point on April 21

Next Friday April 21 Ford Day will be held in Wolf Point with Motor Sales Co hosting a free event for farmers and townspeople. Activities include free entertainment and instructional films at Liberty theatre, lectures, and a noon cafeteria lunch. No sales pitches will be made to attendees.

Great Northern expands to meet rising northwest business

Great Northern Railway officials push preparations for growing activity in the northwest and a bumper crop year. H O Neill and W R Smith visited here, with plans for Wolf Point terminal work and about 25000 dollars for new roundhouse equipment. The Bowdoin terminal equipment moves west to Wenatchee as the line shifts to two divisions. The Spokane area becomes the next division point and passenger trains benefit from longer runs due to coal strike conditions. Whitefish to Spokane remains a noted route.
