Bozeman leads under 650 students with 88 points at the state interscholastic music meet in Bozeman. Missoula won the overall sweepstakes with 88 points, Great Falls hosts the 1930 contest, and awards cover numerous solo events with winners from Deer Lodge, Missoula, Great Falls, Lewistown, and other towns.

Buys From One Firm For Seventeen Years

Williston businessman C. Co. Fansler, famed in the region, visited Wolf Point on Thursday. He travels for Finch Van'Slyck and McConville of St. Paul and noted his first bill of goods went to Johnson & Isachsen, pioneer merchants here, seventeen years ago. In town yesterday he placed an order for O. C. Johnson of the Fad, his first and last to date for that customer.

Wolf Point Leads Great Northern Wheat Shipments in Montana

G N shipments show Wolf Point as the top Montana wheat shipping point on the Great Northern with over 1.2 million bushels of the 1928 crop. Conrad via Pondera county totals exceed Wolf Point but include farmers line shipments to Walter. Overall Great Northern movement through March 1 totals 98,975,509 bushels across 2630 cars with 3,821,500 bushels in elevators and 1,168,500 with farmers.

Editor of The Herald prints a plea from Benrud area farmers eighty miles from Wolf Point about abandoned roads. They describe hermit like isolation, long dangerous trips for grain and trading, and failed efforts to extend a recently started road. Dawes Chosen for High Post as Ambassador to Britain

President Hoover selected Charles G. Dawes, former vice president, to be ambassador to Great Britain to handle Anglo American naval dispute issues. Dawes, known for blunt speak, was tapped to replace Allan B. Houghton and London signaled approval. White House announced the move with Senate confirmation anticipated.

Presbyterians Hold Annual Congregational Meeting

A potluck supper preceded the gathering where the session reported 65 new members, 18 funerals, 21 weddings, and 140 pastoral calls in six months. Sunday school membership reached 159 with receipts and disbursements near $359 and $338.36, missions support at $213.72, average offering $6.18, and 103+ attendance. The budget stood at $2987.75 as plans for painting, lot work, and future building were discussed. Isabel Montgomery reelected secretary treasurer. Calvin Rogers reappointed trustee. L. H. St Paul Lutheran Aid Elects Officers at April Meeting

St Paul Lutheran Aid met at the E Hanson home on April 3. Officers for the coming year were elected and a strong financial report was read. The group voted to fund a summer Bible school instructor and appointed Mrs E Mahlum Mrs N Lund and Mrs H Blank to arrange the school. New officers are President Mrs C H Peterson Vice President Mrs H Ferdina Secretary Mrs F E Dier Treasurer Mrs H Blankenship. The aid will meet Saturday April he at the Victory schoolhouse.

Circle hosted a law and motion day session with attendees including County Attorney A M Foor Attorney Frank Catlin Bob White who accompanied Catlin Frank Kirkpatrick and Paul Schillinger both of Vida also in attendance for the proceedings.

Concert Attraction Planned for Wolf Point Date Set

LeRoy Manning and William Kais pleaded guilty to a bad check charge before Justice Turner. Each was sentenced to sixty days in jail with one month suspended for crop assistance. bond set at 400 dollars. A City Grill check was cashed and later endorsed by the other youth. Reverend A O Johnson relayed Spokane College president Curt Foss confirming a Wolf Point concert by Reverend Hodge and Reverend LM Stubbjaer with Miss Bekhind om on Friday evening April 19, drawing praise for the performers.

Sinclair must serve 90 days in jail for defying Senate grain

The Supreme Court ordered Harry F. Sinclair to serve three months in DC jail for refusing to answer Senate Public Lands Committee questions tied to the Teapot Dome lease. He had been acquitted on major charges, with the sentence arising from a March 22 1924 refusal and likely begins around May 4, under a special procedure described in the court order.

Bridge Materials Arrive for Spur Construction Work

Ralls have been laid in 1000 feet of the spur built by Missouri Valley Bridge and Iron Company from the Great Northern main. The bridge company's derrick and two cars of machinery have arrived for use in construction. Machinery seen trucked to the site. Twelve bars of bridge material are in transit.

H. N. Marron, state deputy of the Knights of Columbus, left last week for a southern and western state tour. He attended an initiation and the lodge’s 25th anniversary in Anaconda before planning visits to Deer Lodge, Missoula, and Kalispell on his return home.

State Auto Assn Secretary Visits Wolf Point

J Breitenstein secretary of the Montana Automobile Association visited Wolf Point on Monday spending time with friends. He spoke planned at Glasgow before the Commercial club and returned in the evening. He formerly managed the Rainbow hotel at Great Falls and served as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce there. As AAA secretary he promotes Montana motor travel and coordinates with the national automobile association to aid travelers and provide information. He noted Montana publicity value from Helena headquarters and discussed routes and commissions with local business men.

Air Tourists Visit Regina from Wolf Point in Plane

Edward Krebsbach and J H Jacobs of Wolf Point Montana visited Regina Monday by Travelaire biplane with pilot Jim Cook. They sought data to plan a Wolf Point radio station akin to CKCK Regina. The 200 mile flight required two landings each way due to cold upper air, but no mishaps occurred.
