The Marriage Crucible of the Engravers Tale
A long melodramatic sketch follows a bellows-mender who is drawn into a chain of deceit by engravers in Lyons. He marries Aurora under a forged identity, is exposed, separated, and shamed, then reforms and seeks reconciliation with Aurora and their child. The tale closes with a bittersweet reunion and a paradoxically happy ending after years of crime and punishment.
