In Winthrop Town Hall the Republican caucus ran from 4 30 to 9 15 p.m with 801 votes cast down from 898 last year. Delosse Bristol faced Edgar H. Whitney for Representative and Glidden Cox for Councillor while Alfred Hall unopposed for Senator. Death of Horace R. Tewksbury in town remembered
Horace R. Tewksbury died Sunday evening after a long decline. A native of the town he supported St John’s Episcopal Church as its first treasurer and served on the Park Commissioners. He worked seventeen years for Clapp & Tilton in Boston and is survived by a widow and one daughter. The funeral featured the Schubert Quartette and was conducted by the Rev. Mr Henry. Pallbearers included F H Tewksbury and Joseph H. Crosby among others. Representative floral tributes came from multiple lodges clubs and family friends.
