New Bill on Electrification Ties Boston Roads to New Haven

A joint metropolitan affairs and railroads committee in the state house referred the absorption of the Boston Revere Beach Lynn line by the Boston & Maine and the Boston tunnel project to the railroad commissioners for suggestion and a new bill outlining an electric connection between the New Haven and Boston & Maine railroads. The proposal includes sale terms, fare protections, and tunnel construction responsibilities, with five cent fares on certain routes and required approvals from the general court and railroad board.

Ensign Scanland Weds Miss Mildred Boyd at St Johns

Ensign Francis Worth Scanland of Benton and Miss Mildred Florence Boyd, daughter of Lieut Harry L. Boyd, were married Thursday at St Johns Episcopal Church. The ceremony featured full dress uniforms, 400 invitations, and a reception at the couple’s home with roses and ferns in abundance. The couple will honeymoon in Louisiana and New Orleans before returning, with gifts reported from naval personnel, relatives, and friends.
