On June 2 a large Roxbury Ladies Unity Club gathering at the New Winthrop Hotel featured re election of Mrs F D Osgood as president. A luncheon followed with many club presidents present. The program spotlighted Winthrop talent including the Chromatic Trio and Miss Martha Jenkins recital.

Death of William A Buckley Heats Boston Community
Friends recall William A Buckley a Winthrop resident and Boston business leader who died suddenly from heart failure while en route home from the Plaza Hotel. As post mortem and funeral plans proceeded his family and notable associates attended services at his residence. Buckley held roles with Provident Life Savings Assurance Co and United States offices, owned real estate including Young's Hotel, and enjoyed Lake Winnipesaukee summers as commodore of a yacht club.
