Winthrop Co enchancho Fourth Annual Show

Winthrop Follies of 1915 produced by Winthrop Council No 62 K of C played at the club house for three days in February. Cast included John Sullivan Edward Dunn as leads Michael Casey and Raymond Pitchfork with strong supporting turns by Julian Stiles Rudolph Murray Tip O Neil and Miss Castor Mrs Fred P Strachan. Noted performances by Miss Marian Mulloy Miss Maude K Murray and Mrs Charles A Grimes drew encores and flowers.

Maine Memorial Services Sunday in Winthrop

The town observes the Maine battle memorial date with a 2 pm service in Elkshall. Rev. William F. Dusseault of Lynn delivers the oration. The 10th U S Artillery Band and local veterans groups provide music and participation. A wreath at Columbia Square and new flags accompany the event with attendance by Congressman Roberts and Col Edward J Gilson. Maine Memorial committee lists Russell as chairman and several town residents as members.

Charles E Collins Dies at 64 After Cerebral Stroke

Charles E Collins a longtime ticket agent at Winthrop Centre died Saturday February 6 at 14 George Street after a week of illness from a cerebral shock. Funeral at his home with Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge honors. Interment Winthrop Cemetery. Survived by his wife and three daughters.

Hockamock Club Dance at the Casino

A Hockamock Club dance drew about 175 guests Friday night at the Casino. The hall featured potted palms and crimson pink arrangements near the reception by matrons Mrs. Florence McCarthy and others. Club officers included Mrs. Owen Grant president and Miss Marion Ferguson vice president with a large list of members and many attendees from families such as Devereux, O'Brien, Fowler, and Leonard.
