Winthrop Woman Delivers Third Set of Twins
Mrs. Carlo Moschella and her 40 year old husband welcomed another pair of girls at 24 Cherry street, their third set of twins in just over three years. Attending physician Dr. Isaac Park reports mother and all twins in good condition. The couple now has 14 children, 12 living, with the family led by Mr. Moschella, a Winthrop water works foreman.

At a Saturday meeting January 27 1917 the Winthrop Medical Society voted to revise pricing for office and house calls. Winthrop Residents Scare as Thunder Echoes and Rumors Fly
Winthrop residents faced a real scare Monday forenoon when two bright lightning flashes and heavy thunder rang out, causing people to think a German submarine bombarded the harbor. Telephones buzzed at the police station Fort Banks and customs house, with rumors of attacks on Fast Boston liners and the customs house. Since diplomatic break with Germany, Fort Banks and Fort Heath guards tightened access, Major Thomas Asburn ordering passes and known individuals only, as gun pits and ammunition magazines are secured and Fort Heath limits visitors.

The game featured a fast pace as both teams sought league honors in the interscholastic circuit.
