Anniversary Celebration at Sterling Camp
Mr and Mrs Robert F Allen of Wilshire street celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary with twelve friends at Sterling Junction Massachusetts. They traveled from Winthrop aboard a trolley line to the camp, enjoyed tennis and games, an impromptu All Star Minstrels show, and a Sunday church service at the Sterling Camp ground Auditorium. Funeral for Edgar Benson in Orient Heights
Funeral services for Edgar Benson were held Friday August 14 at 2 PM at St Andrews Mission Orient Heights. Rev. William Treen and Rev. George S Fiske officiated. Pallbearers included Lyman Nelson Walter Baker Arthur Innes Irving Innes Arthur Fletcher Peter Fletcher George Bussey and Atchinson. Twenty two Winthrop Athletic Association members attended in procession to the hearse. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in the family lot.

Mr Tewksbury Returns to Republican Fold in Portrait of Prodigal Son
Former Rep Alfred M Tewksbury of Winthrop, a once Republican and once bull moose, appeared at Republican headquarters at 18 Tremont Street. He had served in 1911 and 1912, spoke often on legislation, and in 1912 attempted a Progressive comeback but stayed home as Winthrop backed Andrew Casassa. Welcomed back with song and prayer, he was depicted as a joyous feeder at the table of his fathers from Mount Washington to Salisbury Beach.
