Winthrop Town Meeting Debates Playground Purchase
The fourth Winthrop town meeting nights with under 200 voters considered Article 7 to build a playground on Pauline street for 33500, which was rejected by the appropriation committee and tabled. A later proposal to buy Jeremiah Green’s land for a public park and landing drew hours of discussion before being postponed and sent to committee, with strong views about Ingleside Park and town development.
