Charles A. Elwell Dies After Long Illness at 83 Loring Road
Charles A. Elwell of Winthrop died at his home on 83 Loring Road after a long illness. Services were held at his residence with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley. The Spanish-American War veteran, 47, formerly of Limerick Maine, is survived by his widow and three children Roland Dorothy and Una and one brother Fred S. Elwell of Malden.

The April meeting of the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association was held at the Deane Winthrop House. An Old Folk's Concert Dazzles Dream Theatre Audience
Dream Theatre hosted An Old Folk's Concert on Monday night under Colonial Chapter No. 96 Order Western Star. All seats sold out and most patrons were turned away. The program featured 26 numbers of songs and recitations by a gifted cast, with strong encoring and standout pieces including the Wedding of Sandy MacNab sung by Mrs. Harry Gardner in costume. A notable minuet by Ridgway Knox and the Misses Chard Norton drew further praise. overall, the entire program surpassed average expectations.
