Fritz Frank Deike 57 died at 12 30 p m Thursday in Ballinger Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral 10 30 a m Saturday at St John Lutheran Winters with Rev Walter C Probst Sr officiating. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery. He was born August 8 1915 in Stillwater Oklahoma and moved to Winters with his parents as a child. Survived by wife Truman Paschal three sons F O Edwin and Michael all of Winters a daughter Mrs Winford Cary of Baytown four sisters and seven grandchildren. A son Bobby died in 1959. Pallbearers listed.

Ladies SS Class Holds Quarterly Party at Church
The First United Methodist Church Sunday School Ladies Class held its quarterly party in the church parlor Monday night. Mrs. Vada Babston chaired, songs were sung, Miss Margarite Mathis led the opening prayer, and Mrs. Odessa Dobbins gave a devotional. Games 84 and 42 were played. attendees included Mesdames Babston, Kelly, Gerhardt, Marks, Badgett, Williams, Arnold, Baldwin, Hamilton and Mathis, with guests Drake, Emmert, Nichols, Traylor, Stanley, Mapes, Davis, Neely, Middlebrook, Dobbins, Bell and Wright.
Wingate Man J E Virden Turns 90 Amid Guests
J E Virden celebrated his 90th birthday on September 14 with friends and family visiting at his Wingate home. Attendees included sister Artie Smith of Winters and his children C J Carnett, Gene Virden, and R E Johnson. Relatives from Arizona and Oklahoma joined, while local residents sent greetings and meals.

The Winters 4-H Club met at City Hall on September 18 and elected officers for the year. Roger Kruse became president, Francine Austin vice president, Rhonda Carter secretary, Dawn Austin reporter, and Douglas Rogers council delegate as activities were planned.

The Junior Lutherans of St. John's Lutheran Church elected John Pruser as president Francine Austin as vice president Dawn Austin as secretary and reporter and Kathy Brede Meyer as treasurer. Rev. Walter C. Probst installed the officers. A puppet show on the Navajo Indians was presented and the group voted to send 10 kleeni kits and 10 activity kits to Vietnam.
