Wingate club met Monday with Mrs. Alpheus Hill in the chair and Mrs. Wayne Owens recording. Hill was queen for the week as pictures were taken for the personal improvement contest which ends at Christmas. Several members attended family visits and trips including HemisFair in San Antonio and travels to Amarillo Kerrville and Kerrville.

Vivian Thomas died at Wharton Friday evening after a seven year illness. Graveside rites were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Shep Cemetery South Taylor County. Burial followed under Spill Funeral Home Winters supervision with Rev. Ted Bigham officiating. Born November 1942 in New York she lived in Wharton 15 years with her parents Mr and Mrs Grady Thomas Survivors include her parents a grandfather Ben R Thomas of Borger a brother Grady Roland Thomas in the Navy and two sisters Mrs Tommy Autrey Amarillo and Yvone Thomas Wharton.

Returned Home After Extended Colorado Vacation
Mrs. T. V. Jennings has returned home after a two and a half months vacation at Vallecito Resort in Colorado. Her son Ernest Jennings and grandson Tommy Jennings of Arlington spent two weeks at the resort. Mr. and Mrs. John Owen of Abilene joined her for a six weeks visit. Another son Lawrence of Irving flew to the resort for a week's visit and accompanied her home.
