General Motors selects Pontiac for new industrial venture
General Motors announces Pontiac as the home for a major new industrial enterprise. About 15 million dollars has been invested in equipment and facilities to produce a 60 000 unit first year output with 2 000 jobs created at the Oakland plant. The car, a companion to Oakland models, will begin production in December and be shown in January at the New York show, with Fisher bodies and a price between Chevrolet and Oldsmobile lines.
