Winters State Bank First to Reach Million in Deposits
The Winters State Bank at Winters grew to exceed 1 000 000 in deposits, a county first. The bank, with capital stock 50 000, benefited from a robust cotton crop. Winters gins produced around 40 000 bales, and Runnels County deposits surged across year-by-year records from 1909 onward.
