Winters High to honor 1916 class at Homecoming Oct 21
The Golden Anniversary class of 1916 will be honored during Winters High School homecoming on October 21. Ronald Rugh of the local Soil Conservation Service led a large turnout of Runnels County ranchers, district officials, and agency reps at the Sonora Experiment Station range tour. Dr. Leo Merrill demonstrated grazing rotation trials showing rotation deferred grazing tripling net income over year-long grazing. Rugh urged pastures owners with two or more tracts to consider rotational deferment and seek SCS help.
