Lisso To Join Main Barge Exercise In Central Germany
Pfc. Frederick H. Lisso of the 50th Infantry will take part in Exercise Main Barge a V Corps field drill in central Germany November 13 to 17 involving about 28 000 troops. The maneuvers aim to build small unit leadership test combat readiness and include assault river crossings and an aggressor force with conventional and atomic era artillery. Lisso a mechanic in Company A stationed at Wildflecken entered the Army in 1960 and trained at Fort Hood before arriving overseas last November.

Leta Dickinson Cox 74 mother of Mrs. Leonard Wright died after a heart attack while visiting son J. G. Cox in Sonora. Born April 13, 1887 Old Runnels, she taught at Hilton Antelope Stone Winters Old Runnels Blanton retiring in 1925. Funeral Friday at First Presbyterian Ballinger. survivors include daughter, son, two sisters, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Burial Old Runnels Cemetery.

Virgil James Hill Dies of Heart Attack at 51
Virgil James Hill 51 died Friday of a heart attack at his Winter home. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev Virgil James and Rev B T Shoe-make officiating. He was born Feb 26 1910 in Mills County and married Esta Lena Doggett in 1982 at Goldthwaite. He worked as a welder for Dry Manufacturing Co and earlier in Winters Manufacturing Co and the railroad. He is survived by his wife four sons three daughters parents and many relatives. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery with nephews as pallbearers. There is no failure until you fail to keep trying.
