The North Runnels Hospital adopts a non discrimination policy admitting and treating patients regardless of race color or national origin. Dorcas SS Class of the First Baptist Church gathered Wednesday at Mrs. T. D. Coupland's home with Mrs. R. D. Collins and Mrs. Coupland as hostesses. President Mrs. Artie Smith led the meeting. Mrs. Velma Hart taught and Mrs. Myrtle Wilbanks gave a devotional on The Thanksgiving Theme from Psalm 105. A Christmas dinner was planned for December 6 and husbands would be invited. Refreshments were served to members and guests including Mrs. Victor White.
The Women's Society of United Methodist Church met Tuesday morning for a business meeting and to begin a China study. President Mrs. John Schaffrina led the session with prayers and songs. Rankin Pace showed slides from Hong Kong and the Far East, while Mrs. Pace exhibited items from the East. Mrs. Parramore spoke on China Today and the group closed with The Lord's Prayer. Attendees included Mrs. August McWilliams, Mrs. W. W. Parramore, Alma Daniel, and many others, plus visitors Mr. and Mrs. Rankin Pace and Mrs. Enoch Johnson of Crews.
The Wingate Gator TOPS held two meetings at the Humble Recreation Hall on November 10 and 17. Programs were led by Mrs. Alpheus Hill and Mrs. George Cave first, then by Mrs. Pat Pritchard and Mrs. Joe Bryan with queen honors awarded to Mrs. Cave and Mrs. W C Middleton.

Funeral held for Eric Michael Pumphrey two month old son of Mr and Mrs Bill Pumphrey of Philadelphia Pa. He died Sunday night at St Christopher Children’s Hospital. Survivors include parents grandparents Doyle and Marvin Pumphrey and Ernest Pack and Ronnie Bethel visited Winters home. Jan 29 30 31 Robert Lee 8th Grade Girls mention.
Martin H Gerhart 87 died noon Tuesday in North Runnels Hospital after a long illness. Funeral was 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church. burial at Northview Cemetery. Born June 14, 1882 near San Antonio, he homesteaded a Winters area farm since 1901. Survived by son Harry, daughters Mrs. Carl Gottschalk and Mrs. L. W. Kettler, a niece and nephew in Winters, brother John, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed.
Dale Sewing Club gathered Tuesday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Ernest Smith. Members pieced quilt blocks for the hostess and were served refreshments after the session. Attendees included Mesdames Traylor, Ueckert, Stoecker, McKnight, Adams, Davis, Spill, Rogers, Fisher, Thormeyer, Hambright, Smith, Whittenberg and Miss Henniger. The Christmas supper was mentioned.
The notice lists a December 12 event at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Thormeyer and a November 25 gathering at the home of Mrs. Bill Mayo.
Mr and Mrs Ernest Adams spent the weekend in San Antonio for the 50th anniversary of the 36th Division Band. Mr Adams served in the band during World War I and the couple also visited relatives during their trip.
The Enterprise office reports a large stock of receipt books available for distribution. Staff say these economical ledgers meet local business needs and can be obtained during regular office hours.
West Central Industrial Arts Association met at Winters High School in the industrial arts building on Monday evening November 17. Host was WHS industrial arts teacher Clifford Hill with representatives from Abilene, San Angelo, Brownwood, Stephenville, Ballinger, Winters, plus Abilene Christian College and Tarleton State College of Stephenville.
The Shep Community Center hosts a fourth Monday night singing on November 24 at 7 00 p m. Local and out of town quartets will attend with a featured appearance by the International Quartet from Abilene. The public is invited.
