Funeral for Mrs. Carrie Smith Seitz 83 of San Angelo and former Winters resident was held at 3 p.m. Friday at Main Street Church of Christ in Winters with Minister Glenn Gray officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery was directed by Massie Funeral Home. She died in a San Angelo nursing home after several months illness. Born February 22, 1886 in Alabama she married George Seitz in 1904 and lived in Wingate before retiring to Winters then moved to San Angelo in the early 1950s. Survivors include a daughter Bernice Dean of Fort Worth two sons G L Seitz of Bakersfield Calif and Russell T Seitz of San Angelo a sister J W Lindsey of Wingate six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Russell Seitz Rodney Seitz Lloyd Carter Roy Young T A Smith and Milton Patterson.

Cloves price rose from 38 cents to $1.75 per pound after a poor Zanzibar crop. Clove use spans pickle making, catsup, chocolate, baked goods, and clove oil flavors gum, candy, soap, perfume, and pharmaceuticals.

Leon H. Page 54 of Killeen died after a heart attack at his home on Wednesday. Born August 6 1915 in Birthright he was married to Minnie Whitley in Clovis New Mexico in 1952. The family ran a cafe in Winters before moving to Killeen five years ago. Survivors include his wife mother Audry Ferguson daughter Elizabeth Selvige two brothers Jim Page M W Page two sisters Vivian Tomkin Mable Hansen. Funeral services were held Friday at Spill Memorial Chapel with Rev Herman E Gregory of Odessa officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Weems R P Penny Bud Smith Whitley Smith Adrian Hale and Malcolm Holliday.
