Relative of Local Resident Died In Hillsboro
Miss Roxie Clanton, 77, of Hillsboro died Tuesday afternoon in Hillsboro. A sister in law of Mrs. C. C. Clanton of Winters, she was a former long time Winters resident. Survivors include three Winters nieces, Mrs. Robert Mayfield, Mrs. Chesta Lee and Mrs. Marvin Traylor.

Winters Man Reuben Gehrels Dies After Ill Health
Reuben Melton Gehrels 57 died at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Winters Municipal Hospital after three days there following months of ill health. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. J. S Tierce and Rev. Emmitt Brooke of Tye officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery under Spill Funeral Home. Born Oct 3 1909 in Penelope Texas he lived in Winters since youth. He married Dessie Davis in Abilene Nov 25 1931. He worked as a mechanic then for Merchant Motor Lines for 17 years in Winters as agent before selling his agency. Surviving wife son James daughters Donna Gehrs and Argene LaVeta Hodge brothers Monroe and Edd sisters Lydia Kelly Paul Gerlach and Mrs Steve Fuller, six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Simpson Bill Sharpes Hal Dry Arthur Bates W D Waggoner Wayne Seals Chaney Hood and Bob Loyd.

Born Carrie Hudgins Feb 5 1886 in Somerville Ga she married Bulsterbaum Mar 16 1913. Survivors include two sons two brothers two sisters two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
