The Texas State Historical Association will photograph remnants of Texas rural life to preserve the state's disappearing culture. James E. Alvis will lead a yearlong trip across Texas, shooting up to 30 000 exposures in color and black and white. He will document backwoods life, ranches, farms, mills, gins, stores, churches, and more to show the man environment relationship.
