Promising Flathead Catfish Production Advances
Parks and Wildlife biologists report new hatchery methods for flathead catfish in East Texas. At Jasper 15 pairs and at Tyler 25 pairs are bred. five Jasper pairs and 11 Tyler pairs have spawned. Hormone injections, roomier pens, artesian well water, and trained feeding shift result in about 50 percent production, with deeper water preferred for spawning.

Premium Medicare Premium to Rise July 1
