Baker Reunion In Ballinger Center Honors W A Baker Line

The thirty fourth annual Baker reunion of Winters descendants met at Ballinger Community Center for two days. Rev. S A Baker led in memory of Rita Baker Dawes of Oklahoma with help from Rev. LeRoy Baker and Lonnie Collinsworth. Attendees included Jim Counts and family, Hayden Baker, and many Bakers from Winters, Meadow, Lubbock, Abilene, Clyde, Fort Worth, San Jose, and Mountain View. The group planned the 1968 meeting at Ballinger and elected officers for the new session.

Judy Elaine Kettler and Roy Faubion wed in candlelit church ceremony

Judy Elaine Kettler and Roy Glenn Faubion exchanged vows Saturday July 15 at St John s Lutheran Church in a candlelit ceremony attended by families from Houston Midland and Dallas. The bride wore a white crepe gown with pearl embellishments and a chapel train. The groom is a Houston native with ties to the University of Houston and Texas Tech. A reception followed. the couple planned a wedding trip to Acapulco Mexico and will reside in Houston.

Poarch Family Three Day Reunion at Oak Creek Lake

Descendants of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Poarch held a three day reunion at the Robert White cabin on Oak Creek Lake July 14 15 and 16. Attendees from Seymour Winters Mc Camey Amarillo Wichita Falls and other areas gathered with four sisters and their families. Plans were made to meet at the cabin each year.

Library Aids Plan July Work Schedule at Winters Public Library

A Winters Public Library meeting set July work plans for Junior High School volunteers. With Miss Myra Glover away, Mrs. Douglas Cole will supervise the July schedule while a book binding session led by Sally Spill guides the group. In June the Aids logged 70 hours. Since 1958 they have trained annually to assist the library. Attendees included Barbara Brown Judy Foster Emaleta Cole and Lou Ann Cole.
