Mrs J B Gladden and her mother Mrs Lockie Averyt visited M W Averyt and family in Andrews and St. and Mrs Dan Hill in Roswell New Mexico. They left Thursday for Palestine Longview and Frankston. Mrs Averyt will stay in East Texas to visit a son daughter and relatives. Mrs Gladden will return home next week.

Marriage Vows Solemnized for Lynn Lacy and Arby Holbrooks
Lynn Lacy daughter of Mr and Mrs A C Lacy of Bradshaw and Arby Holbrooks son of Mr and Mrs W Holbrooks of Pumphrey were married Saturday at 7 30 pm in the First Methodist Church Winters. The ceremony was officiated by Rev Johnnie Smith with a double ring ceremony and a reception followed in the church fellowship hall. The couple will reside in Monahans after a trip to the Big Bend State Park.

Funeral Services For M. G. Roper Held Wednesday
Funeral services for M. G. Roper 51 longtime Winters Norton area resident were held Wednesday at 4 pm at the First Baptist Church with Rev. B. T. Shoemake officiating. Burial followed in Norton Cemetery. Roper died Tuesday morning at his home seven miles west of Winters from a heart attack after driving a tractor earlier that day. He was born May 16, 1908 in Norton and lived in the Winters Norton area all his life. Surviving are his wife Deslie St. Clair a daughter Diana and a son Marion at home a brother Cecil of Norton. Pallbearers included named local men.
