Mr and Mrs Louis Ernst will observe their sixtieth wedding anniversary Sunday February 4 with an open house at 1109 West Parsonage from 2 00 to 5 00 p m hosted by their children. Relatives and friends are invited.
The Winters and North Texans counties recorded heavy rains last week, with Winters town tallying 5 inches and January total reaching 5.1 inches. Unofficial 0.6 inch freezing rain was noted January 3. Reservoirs rose as Winters City Lake spilled over its level after the week’s moisture, marking a strong finish to the month.

The district plans 20 flood prevention dams in 150 464 acre watershed costing about 2 million dollars aided by Soil Conservation Service funds. 12 dams built, one under construction, four sites cleared.
