Adolf Belitz 82 a German born immigrant died Saturday in Winters Municipal Hospital His funeral was held Sunday at St John Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery Survivors include his wife three daughters seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren The Belitz bakery on South Main Street was his long time business

Captain Paul George announces Seventh Navy Recruiting area in Dallas will accept young men with no prior training for a three year first enlistment. Prior trained personnel may reenlist for two or three years with up to 30 days advance leave. Former enlistments drop to four or six years. Henry Hubach 86 of Winters died Sunday at 12 04 pm in Winters Municipal Hospital after a year of ill health. Born February 3 1875 in Houston he moved to Austin as a child and later settled in Runnels County eight miles southwest of Winters. He was a retired farmer since 1945 and a member of St John s Lutheran Church. Funeral was Monday at 3 pm at St John s Lutheran Church with Rev H K Flathmann officiating. Burial followed in the Lutheran Cemetery under Spill Funeral Home direction. He was survived by wife Pauline Elizabeth Hubach who died in February 1988 and by children Weene Le Alma Hughes Gatesville Olga Phillips Austin and others. Pallbearers were Fred Young Newt Stoecker George Poe Fritz Pruser Ernest Thromeyer and others.
Mrs Sam Jones was re elected president of the Diversity Club at a Thursday meeting held in Dr Hale's home. Officers elected included Z J Hale as vice president H B Livingston recording secretary Mrs Earl Roach Mrs Roy Young parliamentarian Mrs J Feder ation counselor and Mrs G fon reporter and co secretary. Attendees included M R Bellis W T Billups C R Kendrick Earl Roach J E Roy Young G E Wilson and Oile Roberts. The club reported funds totaling 18 360 000 and an increase in annual income for public schools. Investments stood at 455 001 644 as of November.
