Increase In Mail Rates January 7 For Letters Newspapers Magazines

Postmaster Rankin Pace announced January 7 changes in all mail classes except parcel post and international mail. First class rates rise to six cents per letter and ten cents per ounce for air mail up to seven ounces, with heavier pieces merged into a single rate. Special handling will be available on third class parcels weighing eight to sixteen ounces, and rates for second class, bulk third class, and educational fourth class mail increase as well.

Junior Livestock Show Award Money Set By Local Backers

Winners in three divisions at the Winters Wingate Junior Livestock Show will receive cash bonuses replacing the animal sale.
