On Friday January 10 a salmon croquettes plate with tartar sauce lima beans cabbage pineapple salad corn muffins chocolate no bake cookies and milk.

Funeral services for Horace A Red Stanford 53 a former Winters resident were held at 10 30 a m Monday in the First Baptist Church Andrews with Rev Carl Grissom officiating Graveside rites followed at 430 p m at Lakeview Cemetery Winters He died at 1 a m Friday December 20 at Permian General Hospital Andrews He was an employee of Humble Oil Company and had lived in Winters before moving to Andrews months ago.
Members of the San Souci Club gathered at Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Gardner for the monthly meeting and Christmas party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Minzenmayer. A turkey buffet featured holly and red candle decor, with table cards as little Santas. After dinner 42 games were played by guests including Harry Herman and others, followed by gift exchanging from a green tree with red baubles and birds.
The Wingate Art and Craft Club met at the Humble Camp with hostess Mrs. James Willadds. Members shared crafts including a mixed flour paste picture by Mrs. Raymond Lindsey and bois de arc apple decorations by Mrs. O D Bradford. Pumpkin pie and coffee were served to the listed members and one visitor. The next meeting is January 9 at the Humble Camp hosted by Mrs. O D Bradford.
Milton Roman Petrie 68 of Crews died at Bal linger Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral was held Friday at the Crews Methodist Church with ministers officiating. Burial followed in Crews Cemetery. Survived by his wife Cora Braddon and two daughters Patricia Hambright Winters and Neysa Summerville San Antonio. Pallbearers named.
Recent guests included Mr. and Mrs. C. R. King of Abilene with Billy and Joyce. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Reel and Kenny of Winters. Don Wilson family from Buffalo Gap. G. W. Gunn and Tony of Dallas. D. S. Riggan and Cheryl and Angelia of Sweetwater. Ronnie Reel and Lynda Burgess of Abilene. and Mrs. Ted Eoff of Winters.
Linda June Schroeder of Route 4 Winters and Vernon Henry Castle Jr of El Paso announce their engagement. Schroeder earns a BA in government from UT Austin in January 1969. Castle, UT Austin graduate in architectural studies, is employed by Eugene Wukasch in Austin. The couple plan a February 1 wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winters.
Holiday visitors gathered at the Mitchell home of Mr. and Mrs. Audra L Mitchell. Attendees included daughter Marilyn Mitchell of Pueblo Colorado son Roy Mike Mitchell stationed at Fort McClellan Alabama Mr and Mrs A L Mitchell with Public Health Service Ponca City Oklahoma and Garner Young and sons Jeffrey and Stephen of Lubbock Texas.
Joyce spent the Christmas holidays in Dallas and Fort Worth, visiting family and enjoying local events. The trips highlighted holiday activity and regional travel during the season.
