Funeral Sunday for J. B. Whitlow at Baptist Church
Jessie B. Whitlow 60 died Friday after a two year illness. Funeral Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from First Baptist Church with Rev. B. T. Shoemaker and Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery. Survivors include wife Willie Ruby Atkinsway, two sons Jerry and William Kay, four grandchildren, two brothers Homer and Pete, three sisters. Whitlow was longtime Kimbell Co. employee and Winters Fire Department member.

The St John's Lutheran Chancel Guild held its regular monthly meeting at the church. New president August Stoecker opened with a prayer. Devotion titled The Way was led by Bill Hoppe. Miss Emma Henniger read scriptures from Solomon, Wisdom, and Ecclesiastes. Members shared Bible verses during roll call. Refreshments were served by Mrs Hoppe and Emma Henniger to nine attendees including August Stoecker Ellis Ueckert Charlie Adams Johnnie Wessels Ted Hantsche Herman Spill and Albert Spill.
